James teaches us about trials, but here he sets before us a glorious hope that we can cling to in our trials.

We are reminded that our standing before God does not rely on ourselves and what we have done but upon the work of God.

We must confront the sin that remains in our lives and seek deliverance

Paul is thankful for the Law because it showed him the depth of his sin.
