Hope in Jesus, who has risen and ascended to reign in glory. John wants to make a fact clear: that Jesus was bodily raised form the dead. God has raised Jesus from the dead in order to raise Him up to reign in heaven.

Disciples are called to fight sin in one another and to forgive continually. The Christian in faith is able to do what may seem impossible. This is just the normal Christian life unworthy of merit or boasting.

Wealth is not loaned to us for self-indulgence. Eternity hinges on whether we love God with our money or just love money. The word of God is sufficient for this.

Prudent disciples use worldly wealth generously for the sake of the Kingdom and others. Our wealth is loaned to us to help us gain Kingdom reward found in total allegiance to God.

God, in love, pursues lost people with Gospel kindness. God's pursuit of lost people is a pursuit of joy; His and ours forever.

Jesus requires complete allegiance from His disciples. Think carefully about the cost, and the necessity, of complete allegiance to Jesus.

God's righteous ones love others in view of God's future reward; The call to the Kingdom must be answered with trust in Christ or it will be lost
