With the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, all who heard the first disciples speaking in other languages were amazed and astonished. The Spirit's presence and power that breaks through language and cultural barriers continues to be at work among us.

Has Jesus set you up for a fall?

Elijah's being taken up into heaven by a chariot and horses of fire prefigured Jesus' own ascension forty days after He rose from the dead.

Before Jesus' ascension into heaven, He promises to his disciples that He will send "another Help... even the Spirit of truth."

Home is where you belong.

Jesus, crucified and risen from the dead, is our Shepherd Guardian. He is the One who has laid down his life for his flock, and in him we have full and abundant life, both now and forever.

The Word of the Lord endures forever.

Jesus' resurrection was beyond belief for those first disciples, especially Thomas. Locked behind closed doors in fear, the risen Savior came to them with his blessing of peace. He comes to us today as well with that same gift of peace.

The waiting is over.

The end of all our brokenness is death.
