The Good Shepherd feeds his flock - not just with food for the body, but with justice and righteousness. In today's Gospel lesson, Jesus had compassion on the crowd because they were like sheep without a shepherd. He fed them by multiplying five loaves of bread and two fish. He feeds his flock today as well.

God's Word is often unwelcome in our lives, but it brings the cure that makes us well

God gives us hope in Jesus, who drives out death and dying

Storms can rage around us as well as within us. The same Lord Jesus who stilled the storm on the Sea of Galilee promises to be with us today. He is able to give calm and peace in place of fear and anxiety with his word:

God plants and nourishes the seed of faith, bringing his reigning into our lives

We're entering into prime time season for summer family gatherings and reunions. Jesus redefines what family looks like when he says:

We have a God who wants us to be able to spend time with Him, and does all that's needed to make that possible

The festival of Pentecost celebrates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the One who calls us and keeps us in the one true faith in Jesus Christ. The Spirit is the holy Helper who guides us into all truth, and bears witness to Jesusk, glorifying him.

Jesus is the testimony of God's love, who keeps us while we are in the world

Jesus' ascension points us to the destination ahead of us
