Some stories in Scripture are so familiar that we stop hearing them. We nod at the words, already knowing “the point,” and miss the power hidden in plain sight. Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) is one of those stories – told in Sunday schools, painted in stained glass, recited in sermons. But what if we slowed down? What if we took the month to walk the road ourselves, step by step, hearing it as Jesus’ first audience heard it? For four weeks, we will explore the parable in its historical, cultural, and spiritual depth. By the end of this journey, we won’t just know the story better. We’ll be challenged to walk the Jericho Road every day – choosing mercy over indifference, action over avoidance, and neighbor-love over self-protection. “Likewise” Based on the Scripture from Luke 10:36-37.
