After calling upon his readers to prioritize their consumption of God's word for the sake of their spiritual growth, Peter now explains to them how God is using each believer to build them up into His spiritual house of worship.

In response to their great salvation, and the eternal Word of God through which it came, Peter calls upon his readers to prioritize their consumption of God’s Word, and remove everything in their lives that is not in conformity to it.

In this third scene of the story, the writer describes Naomi and Ruth’s journey from the fields of Moab back to Bethlehem, recounting their return, reception, and most importantly, God’s working in, and through their lives.

Peter continues to call upon his readers to live in light of their great salvation, as he moves on from the applications of holy thinking and conduct, to living a life of godly fear in remembrance of the infinite cost of their redemption.
