Peter continues to elaborate upon the Biblical metaphor of stones to describe to his readers how God is building His spiritual house of worship, with every believer being united to, and built off of the Chief Cornerstone, His Son.

The writer ends this second act of the story, by illustrating God's grace in His providential guidance and provision for Ruth and Naomi, trough the circumstances and results of the day, which Ruth and Naomi discuss together.

Paul finished addressing his philosophy of ministry, opened up his heart to the Colossians Church to encourage them, and now he exhorts them to walk in Jesus Christ the Lord, the one whom they received. The one sufficient for all things.

The writer begins the second act of the story, by describing the circumstances in which Ruth, who ventures to provide for herself and her mother-in-law Naomi, Providently experiences God's grace through the virtue of Boaz.

After calling upon his readers to prioritize their consumption of God's word for the sake of their spiritual growth, Peter now explains to them how God is using each believer to build them up into His spiritual house of worship.

In response to their great salvation, and the eternal Word of God through which it came, Peter calls upon his readers to prioritize their consumption of God’s Word, and remove everything in their lives that is not in conformity to it.

In this third scene of the story, the writer describes Naomi and Ruth’s journey from the fields of Moab back to Bethlehem, recounting their return, reception, and most importantly, God’s working in, and through their lives.

As Peter continues to call upon his readers to live in light of their great salvation, he moves on from his previous applications of thinking and living in hope, holiness, and fear, to exercising a fervent Christ-like love for one another.
