  • Bearing One Another's Burdens
In the Christian life we are burden free, but not exactly. We have had burdens lifted, but at the same time we have responsibilities and specifically responsibilities to one another. Today we take a look at burdens in light of living free by the grace of God and what that means for us in relation to others.

  • Freely Running the Race of Perseverance
Important to the race that we as believers are called to live is the freedom from every weight that tries to trip us up, distract us or weigh us down, so that we are not effective in our witness or we throw in the towel all together and give up. So, today we will look at weights in this life that try to knock us off track and be encouraged to persevere in freedom. To live free we must be free of the weights of this world.

  • The Stresses of Life
Freedom though, is not utopia. It is not carefree living. It doesn’t mean we are free from the concerns of life and stresses of life. It doesn’t mean trouble will not come. There will still be those times when the pressures and weight of life will press in and try to overwhelm us. So, what do we do? Because there will be days when the load at work is too much; the kids will drive us to our last nerve and circumstances might seem too much to bear. In today’s Scripture text, David gives us a picture of what freedom looks like when we are stressed out. May the Lord encourage our hearts today and may we cling to Him through lives pressures and responsibilities.

  • Unashamed of the Gospel
We might be shamed, but we are called to be not ashamed of the gospel. Paul gives reason why and how this can be as he calls us to consider the reality and power of the gospel in our culture that wasn’t too different from Rome with two warring mindsets that were present and addressed by Paul. So, may we live a life unashamed of the gospel as we receive, stand, are being saved, daily feeding on and holding fast to the gospel.

  • An Unchanging Hope in an Ever-changing World
Think about the last 365 days and the world we live in. Wow, how things have changed. Now think about this Summer and how the world is different since the kids got out of school until today. No doubt the world is changing at an ever-increasing pace. The rise of evil acts and lawlessness is increasing. In the midst of such an ever-changing world we do not have to fear. We are not hopeless. We have an unchanging and everlasting hope. Over the next three weeks we will look at the gospel and how Jesus is the only hope for our world and for us. We will look at what the gospel really is; two mind-sets that wage war against the gospel; how the gospel is not just an entry-door, but where Christians get their daily living from; and how we are to communicate such a message to a world that is indifferent to God.
