  • Our Purpose: Glorify God
Have you ever thought about why you exist? This is an important question. The Scriptures answer this saying, all things have been created through Christ and for Christ. God created us for Himself. That was His goal and aim in creating the world and all that He filled it with. He created us to enjoy living for His glory. This is also the prupose of the church. In fact, this is the purpose of all things. So, this Sunday we begin with asking WHY and then will continue over the weeks to come to look into our focus as Christ's church.

  • Matthew: Christ, the Bearer of our Infirmity
As we continue to look at the ministry of Jesus Christ through the Gospel of Matthew, we see a special emphasis on healing. Both to fulfill words of the prophets and to point to the future hope of resurrection, we learn that Christ is our spiritual and physical healer. We learn that this life is broken, hurting, filled with sin and disease and we should rightfully mourn and lament over the state of the world. Though our lament is real, it is turned into hope as we look to Christ as our bearer of sin and guarantee of resurrection in the flesh and hope for the future no matter what the present day holds. We respond with patience, service, humility and awe in the Son of God who came to take upon himself the weaknesses of mankind.

  • Matthew: More Than a Healing
Jesus brings change. He did, and has to the heart and lives of many that we see in Scripture, and still today. He changed the entire landscape of Palestine with his healings. What in your life needs changing today? Trust Jesus with the faith of the centurion and be amazed at what God does.

  • Matthew Gospel: Self-Deception vs. Knowing Jesus
Today we continue our study in Matthew's Gospel. Our main text today causes us to ask what it means to truly know Jesus? Jesus says that there are many who think they know Him, but they don't. To know and be known by Jesus is what life is all about. To miss this is to miss everything we were created for. Our eternal home is determined on knowing Him or not. May we truly know Jesus today.

  • Matthew: False Prophets
This week we continue our study of Matthew’s Gospel, as we look at Matthew 7.13-23. Our focus today will be on Jesus’ warning. In the past, there have been false prophets. There will be in the future and there will be those who are false teachers and leaders in our present day as well. Jesus takes this very serious and so should we. We do not have to fear though because genuine believers can overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. May we be equipped and encouraged today

  • Blowing the Trumpet of Truth for the Unborn
Today is Sanctity of Life Sunday. The church is to pray and long for God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. This includes us blowing the trumpet of truth for the unborn. Today we seek to teach concerning a very sensitive issue in our day. Our heart is to address this with speaking the truth in love.

  • Matthew: The Narrow Way
As we continue through Matthew’s Gospel today we are invited by Jesus to enter the kingdom of heaven. The entrance to the kingdom is narrow and the road, which is in the here and now is a struggle. It is the road that the disciple is called to. It is not a middle road of a so-called belief, but no works. Instead it is a road of long obedience. I pray that we would enter in, faithfully endure the road and rejoice when the kingdom of God is consummated.

  • Matthew: Incarnating Christ's Love
The Golden Rule is found in many different forms and in many different settings. Jesus gives this rule to His disciples as something they should live by which is motivated by their love for Him. With this exhortation we are challenged today to excel in loving others, even considering them better than ourselves. To do this is for us to incarnate His love. May it be so.

  • Matthew: The Active Process of Spiritual Growth
As Christians saved by the grace of God through Christ, we must take up the task of active spiritual growth. Jesus reminds us of our sinful nature and implores to seek the greater things of God. Ask, seek and knock are the actions of a believer. We should evaluate the stones and snakes in our lives and recognize God has greater things for us if we actively seek them.
