There is a dangerous spiritual problem that can creep into our lives, and that is the problem of stagnation, of not growing, of remaining immature for too long, the problem of not going on to become the complete person that Jesus died for you to become.

Jesus Christ is a perfect Savior who has earned an eternal salvation for all who obey him. We are not saved by our obedience. Salvation is a divine accomplishment. However, one's salvation is shown by a faith that is obedient and persevering.

Jesus became our High Priest to bring us into God’s presence, or to the throne of grace.

God's word is powerful! Therefore we must be diligent to hear it with faith and hold tightly to it, so that we don't fall away.

It is very significant that of all the one word descriptions that could be used to describe our relationship with God, this text uses the word rest. Real faith in Christ, brings us into a place of deep and profound rest.

The way we prosper spiritually, is to listen to God, and then respond!

This passage is telling us to look at Jesus and to look again. To focus on Christ, to fix our eyes upon him, in order to know him, worship him, and be transformed by him.

Jesus had to become like us in every way.

The book of Hebrews is about raising high the supremacy of Jesus Christ! He is a perfect Savior who can be trusted and rested in now and forever.
