Israel was commanded to rest from their work on the seventh day and to remember God's finished work at creation. Through Christ's saving work, we have the joy of resting from our works and trusting in the work accomplished on our behalf as we await the ultimate sabbath rest in glory!

A true representation of God’s name is crucially important to Him. So, taking the name of the Lord should mean something to us. It should not be taken lightly. Therefore, respect for His name is ultimately seen in how we testify to our salvation and sanctification through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Second Commandment, we move from the object of worshiping the one true God to the manner in which we worship Him. To make an image of God is to take our thoughts of Him from a human source, rather than from God Himself. Therefore, we must worship Him as He has revealed Himself to us, ultimately through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

God is a God who saves and God is a God who sanctifies. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Therefore, we are in desperate need of a Mediator, the Lord Jesus, who perfectly satisfies God’s righteous demands so that the nearness of God is our eternal good!

The Lord continues to deliver His people as He saves and organizes them for their good and His renown. Likewise, the Lord Jesus is the chief cornerstone of the Church who prepares His diverse bride for their holiness and their eternal happiness in Him!

God is a God who saves and sanctifies. God provides His people with a glorious salvation from death and enslavement, and God will continue to provide His people with everything they need in and through the Lord Jesus Christ. The question is: will we trust Him or will we grumble?

God’s glorious salvation for Israel from death and from their enslavement to Egyptian taskmasters through the Red Sea anticipates a greater salvation from sin and death through the Lord Jesus and His death on the cross. Both call for exuberant praise from the people of God!

Some things in this life should never be forgotten. The Lord instituted the Passover Meal, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and Consecration of the Firstborn to teach us that constantly remembering how God saved us through a substitutionary sacrificial Lamb is absolutely essential to having an ongoing thriving relationship with Him.

Communicating with God is an incredible privilege that we’ve been granted in Christ. Praying biblically highlights our reverence, dependence, and understanding of God’s Word and God’s will. Therefore, let us be a people who are resolved to pray biblically.
