Jesus is the faithful Shepherd who submits to the will of the Father and willingly drinks the cup of God's wrath by laying down His life for His sheep. In response, Jesus calls us, NOT in our own resolve to be faithful, BUT to rest in His faithfulness.

Jesus is the ultimate and final Passover Lamb who came to deliver God’s people from the penalty of death and their enslavement to sin through His once for all substitutionary death on the cross. In response, we should have a whole-hearted devotion to Him as our glorious Savior!

Christ’s return and the judgment of the world is the next event on the redemptive calendar. Since He will come like a thief in the night, with only the Father knowing, we must be ready for His return by believing the gospel, living for the Kingdom, and longing for His coming!

Faced with hostile rejection, Jesus upholds God’s authority; He will render Himself to God as payment for our sin, He Himself will be the resurrection and way to eternal life, and He Himself will empower us to love, serve and sacrifice for one another as the proof of our sincere love for God.

The foolishness of those who reject the Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation that is only available in Him will be seen when God’s forbearance gives way to God’s fury. So seek God’s forgiveness while there is still time to repent and believe in God’s glorious gift of His only beloved Son, our Savior.

A right response to Jesus is not to simply see Him as the God of the Old Testament who is filled with wrath and judgment or the God of the New Testament who is filled with love and mercy. Jesus is both our righteous judge and our merciful Savior, who has all authority both to judge and to save!

True faith is NOT spiritually blind to the reality that Jesus is the Son of God and the Suffering Servant who willingly lays down His life for our salvation, but sees it with tremendous clarity and responds to it with deep conviction, living a life of joyful obedience by serving God and serving others.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is absolutely essential to the Christian faith. It certifies that Jesus truly is the Son of God and that our eternal salvation is secure only in Him.
