When a person truly comes to faith in Christ, they know Him in a saving way and want nothing more than for others to know Him as well; to know the joy of having their sins forgiven and to know the hope of eternal life. In other words, knowing Christ is the motivation to make Christ known.

Love is sacrificially giving of oneself to act in the interest of another. Sandwiched between his discussion on spiritual gifts, Paul urges us to pursue the "more excellent way" of love in 1 Corinthians 13. It is only as we come to know and receive God's love poured out for us in Christ Jesus that we experience true love and are empowered to rightly love and serve others.

God in His grace and mercy has given to each believer in the Lord Jesus spiritual gifts for the building up and edification of the body of Christ. Therefore, we should focus and concentrate on the gifts that God has uniquely given to us so they might be used for the benefit of the church.

God’s judgment is the result of man’s sin, corruption, and violence; but because of His grace and mercy, He provides salvation through the obedience of the seed of the woman. Noah and the flood points us forward to the coming judgment and the salvation that is available in Christ alone.

Wisdom is the ability to see, and the inclination to choose, the greatest ultimate good. God, in His infinite wisdom, is able to use the lowest of human sinfulness to accomplish His most glorious work of redemption. This is seen throughout the Bible, but it seen most clearly in Christ’s rejection and crucifixion so that we might receive the greatest blessing of eternal salvation.

We live in a world full of anxiety, chronic overwork, and constant entertainment. David provides of a picture of what it means to rest in God- it requires humility, and is a discipline that takes time. And the good news is that this rest is available to all who hope in Christ for salvation. Therefore let’s seek Christ and find our rest in Him.

“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God” (Deut. 7:9). God alone is faithful in all His character and in all His ways. He is faithful to save and faithful to judge. As those who have proven ourselves to be unfaithful, God calls us to continually remember and rest in the Person and work of our faithful high priest, Jesus Christ (Heb. 2:17).

God is unchanging in His character, His truth, His ways, His purpose, and has always had one single plan of redemption for His people, that they would be justified by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone for God’s eternal glory alone. Therefore, let us rejoice in God’s unchanging grace and let us be quick to share the good news with others!

“For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods” (Psalm 95:3). We often think God is like us. Yes, He is personal, but He is not like us in His greatness and majesty. He is the infinite, powerful Creator of the world who knows us better than we know ourselves. Therefore, we need to humble ourselves before God, rest in Him, and worship Him!

The Lord declares to the people of God, "You shall be holy for I am holy." In order for believers to have lives marked by holiness, they must better understand the holiness of God, the sinfulness of man, and the amazing grace of God to atone for our sins and call us to be ambassadors for His glory.
