To wrestle with god in anger and grief is good. They take the shape of whatever we need them to be so we can process the memory. A good father can take the hostility of a son and daughter, to allow for open expression that is honest, in the moment, that touches back into our past, brings the light of understanding into the present, and wraps us in an all embracing grip that will not let go, will not abandon, will not leave us. No matter how hard we beat, struggle, and push away, or try to escape, there it is, still beside us.
