The Complacent and Self-Sufficient
Zephaniah prophesied concerning Judah's coming destruction. The Lord was going to judge His people for their sin and rebellion.
The prophet's message was directed to the citizens of Judah to warn and prepare them for judgment; however, the message is also applicable to all people of every nation and generation.
God's Word teaches that a final day of judgment is coming when all people will be judged. Zephaniah's prophecy points to this day of final judgment, a day when the whole earth will be destroyed.
We who live today cannot know the exact day or hour of judgment. Still, God's Word has warned us that it will come swiftly and will take the human race by surprise. It will come as a thief in the night.
Unless you know Jesus Christ as your own Savior, you will have no place to hide.

In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, Pastor Swanson shares a Sunday message titled,
The Condition Of Man!
If asked, many people will say that man is basically good! Maybe you are one who believes this way.
If asked about God and what He thinks of mankind, they often answer that:
A loving God would never condemn or judge them.
As such a loving God, when all is said and done, He will invite all people into His heaven.
Is that true? Is man basically good or is he hopelessly lost in sin and worthy of judgment?

The Parable of the 10 Virgins!
Jesus uses the event of a wedding to illustrate the need for the believer to be watching for the Lord's return and that he must be wise and not foolish in watching.
Even the wise grow weary and find it difficult to stay awake and alert, to stay at peak performance all the time. No believer, whoever he is, walks anywhere as close as he should to Christ.
Over time we can lose the enthusiasm and zeal we had when we were first saved. If asked at the time, we would have sworn a solemn oath that our enthusiasm and zeal would never diminish or wane.
It doesn't necessarily die out, but it definitely lessens.
The point is that when Christ returns, something will be clearly seen - the foolish within the kingdom, those who have a false profession - will be separated from the wise.
