In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, in the message "Sailing Under Two Flags", Pastor Swanson notes that we should never underestimate the power of the world to sway our mind and pull us off course in our Christian walk.
Every human being serves a master. It is either the things of God or the things of the world. No one can say that they are neutral.
It is impossible to serve two masters. A person may appear to serve both: but let opposite interests arise and it quickly will be seen to which master he/she really belongs.
If you seeking to sail under God’s flag and the World’s flag, by definition you have already chosen the World.

In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, in the message "Ignite The Flame", Pastor Swanson shares how we hate change, even within our spiritual lives.
You and I have a strong desire to just maintain a certain status quo in
our lives.
Status quo is defined as the “existing state of affairs.”
In other words. . .
Leaving things the way they are!
I have heard it said that just maintaining a “status quo” in your life is the equivalent of “sleepwalking through life”.
What is your status quo? Look at your life right now. What are your
priorities? Specifically, your spiritual priorities!
Since my goal here this morning is to share an applicable message from the Word of God, you can assume that just maintaining a “status quo” or engaging in the equivalent of sleepwalking through your Christian life” is unacceptable.

On this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, in the message "What Ever Happened To Hell?", Pastor Swanson notes that millions of Americans have redefined grace to mean that God is so eager to save people from Hell that He will change His nature and universal principles for their individual benefit.
However, the Bible clearly teaches that those who leave this life with their sins unforgiven will spend eternity in hell. You cannot believe in heaven - and not believe in hell. The same Bible that teaches there is a heaven, also teaches there is a hell.
Contrary to the opinion of many, hell is a real place that will be inhabited by real people for all of eternity.

Everyone, at one time or another, has felt like he or she’s been punched in the stomach by life - been given almost a knockout punch!
Sometimes, these periods in life appear right out of the blue, while at other times, they develop over days, weeks, and even months.
In our darkest moments, we wonder if God has forgotten about us - we wonder if God has abandoned us.
When you and I are in the deep valleys of life, we often:
Have you ever been there?

God, in His great love, reaches out to sinful human beings.
This is why we are saved because God is a seeker and a saver of those who are lost. This is true to the nature of God.
In our sinfulness, in our fallenness, in our blindness, in our ignorance, in our association and relationship to the kingdom of darkness and under the power of Satan, we cannot seek after God, we do not seek after God.
Though God wills, and longs, for all men and women to be saved, if any perishes, it is their own fault.

On this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, in the message "Counting The Cost", Pastor Swanson notes that too often the call to discipleship is to receive the great benefits and advantages offered by God. There are eternal benefits and advantages, but salvation and discipleship involve much more.
They involve an unbelievable cost, the supreme sacrifice. A person must pay the ultimate price. . . , all that one is and has to follow Christ.
Too often we fail to count the cost!
