In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, Pastor Swanson shares an inspirational Sunday Message titled,
The Importance of One's Beliefs
Were it not for the book of Genesis, man forever would be forced to ask—yet never be competent to answer. . . such questions as:
- “Where have I come from?” or
- “Why am I here?” or
- “Where am I going?”
Were it not for the book of Genesis. . . man would be forever searching for that which cannot be found.
Much of the emptiness and lack of purpose experienced by so many people today is a result of this fool’s errand of trying to find meaning outside of God.
Any search for meaning within the confines of this world only results in more questions. Sadly, it also creates despair, feelings of being untethered, and an absence of a life foundation.
Men and women of every age have mocked and attacked the Bible as a whole, but no single book of the Bible has been attacked more often than the book of Genesis.
Why do you suppose that is?
The Book of Genesis assures all of creation that we are not the product of chance. . . that our origin is not dependent on such things as the Big Bang Theory and Evolution.
Rather that we exist due to the mind and the intent of an omnipotent, omniscient, eternal, unchangeable God.
