In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, Pastor Swanson shares a Sunday message titled,
Losing Your First Love
Most everyone can point back to their first love. Perhaps by now, the memory of them has so faded that you seldom think of him or her.
Perhaps that first love was a high school or college sweetheart. On occasion, when we do think of that first love we often find ourselves describing that time in our lives as magical or special.
Though we eventually probably married someone else, that earlier time in our life is a fond memory.
Let me switch gears now...
What if, at this very moment.. . your lost first love is the loss of your full affection and enthusiasm for Jesus Christ?
That’s a completely different ballgame!
This message reminds us how easy it is to gradually come to a place where we have lost our first love for Christ.
If this could happen to a church that started out being recommended by the Apostle Paul, it can happen to our churches and to us.
As noted a moment ago, all Christians would do well to examine their faith in God, as well as their dedication, lest they lose their first love.
If you are operating incorrectly as a believer, restoration lies within the action of repenting of your sin and going the right way - of restoring your first love.
