In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, Pastor Swanson shares a Sunday message titled,
Making Necessary Changes
As the Apostle Paul begins the practical section of Romans, he begins by emphasizing our need for transformation.
Romans 12:2 NAS95
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Interestingly, the Greek word translated as transformed here is metamorphoo. It literally means the shape that comes after. This Greek word is the root word for our English word, metamorphosis.
When you confessed and repented of your sin you were given the mind and image of Christ. You were given the indwelt Holy Spirit.
Everything changed. Now, as Romans 12:2 says, God wants to transform you into someone completely new. God wants to move you beyond whatever specific point you are at in your faith.
