Me giving a little bit of my testimony and interaction (ok infatuation) as a older teen/young man with DMX (Earl Simmons). DMX passed away recently and God has this awesome way of us reflecting back on our interactions and encounters with everything and how He truly does work ALL things out for our good and HIS GLORY. One of the last videos I saw of DMX before he passed was him reading his Bible and preaching to his fans. My belief is he was pursuing Christ throughout his life. He was compelled to him. DMX was a very talented and driven man, and his music is not music I condone folks to listen to, but I learned of Earl Simmons because of his music, and where I see the enemy had bad intensions to do evil in my life, God used for Good.

So life is just about being a “good” person? Well, that is maybe one of the most broad and relative statements one could make. Take a listen.

Work that we do for the Lord does not need to look glamorous or prestigious! If you find yourself doing work in the name of the Lord that does not get a lot of notoriety from the world, just know it is GOOD WORK. Please listen.

Should or can Christians use foul language? Is it that big of a deal? Our emotions lead much of what we do and say today. This can hinder the significance of thought in the Christian life. Profane language to me is emotions unchecked through thinking about what needs to be said and how to say it. We develop this “protocol” of how we speak and easily mark it up as “this is just how I talk”. How we speak is a representation of what is going on inside. So in this message I challenge folks to see language as the “fruit” of what’s going on in the root. The root is where the work needs to be done. Think twice before you speak once.

2020 was a year of exposure in the church. This is my “rant” about how to recognize false prophets and be mindful of following their teachings and going to them for “spiritual help”.

My perspective on a few things, digressing a little, but being based around a desire to understand what God is saying to us as much as we can because we love Him more than anything else. I hit on the Passion “translation”. God’s word is perfect and does not need anything “good” added to it from our perspective, which the “sole author” Brian Simmons does. He is a good writer, a brother in the faith with a evangelistic heart, but his rewriting of God’s perfect word is concerning. Shouldn’t we as Christians desire to understand His awesome words and message to us through the Bible because we love Him? It is easy for anyone (myself included) to take a text and put it in a place of “feeling good to me” first rather than keeping He who said it first. Love Him first, it’s our greatest commandment.

Just a little lunch time rant. God never stops moving, and time is something that we cannot buy more of on this Earth. If you are in a “rut” and your routine in life is just existing rather than living for God, it’s time to get intentional and seek the Lord out for that daily bread and being more purposeful in your days in accordance to Him.
