Season 2 Episode 4: Living with a Stammer
In this episode of Several Seats Podcast we are joined by young black queen unapologetically making her mark in society. Sefunmi has lived experience of growing up with a stammer in a community that was still trying to understand the extent of the condition. Sefumni battled with her own self sabotour and struggled with finding her identity, but as soon as she stops seeing her stammer as a barrier and stop limiting herself, the stars became the limit.
Stammering is a neurological condition that affects speak production. Stammering varies in severity from person to person, and from situation to situation.
Stamma (The British Stammering Association) has more information and support for people who stammer and parents of stammering children. You can call the helpline on 0808 802 0002 from Monday to Friday 10am to midday and 6pm to 8pm to find out about the services available in your area.
