No shade for pieced quilting, but I'm discovering that I no longer enjoy the process. In this episode, I reflect on why I have made the move to art quilting, partly as a result of having lost the joy in creating pieced quilts.

Kinusaiga (kee-new-sigh-gah) is a fabric art with Japanese origins that has been visible on social media recently. It uses up stash, allows for mindful composition, and creates unique pieces of fabric artwork.

Remember using crayons as a kid? Well, guess what? You can use crayons in your art quilt! It's easy, accessible, and lots of fun to walk down memory lane while creating a work of fabric art. In this episode, I talk about a brief history of crayons, then go through some application techniques, as well as commonly asked questions about using crayons on fabric.

Art quilts can be so many things, but there is a difference between traditional pieced quilts and what it takes to be an art quilt. In this episode, I briefly talk about the different types of quilt top construction methods, and what it make take to move from to art quilt status.
