This sermon, rooted in Genesis 16, explores the dangers of human impatience and self-reliance in response to divine promises, using Sarai's decision to offer Hagar as a surrogate to Abraham as a cautionary tale. It highlights how a desire for motherhood—though noble—became a vehicle for unbelief when it led to manipulation, resulting in jealousy, pride, and spiritual compromise, ultimately disrupting God's timing and plan. The narrative contrasts this flawed human effort with biblical examples of faithful women like Hannah, Elizabeth, and Rebecca, who trusted God through prayer and waiting, demonstrating that true fulfillment comes not from human strategy but from divine sovereignty. The sermon then shifts to a reverent celebration of motherhood as a divine reflection of God's enduring love, faithfulness, and sacrificial care, urging the congregation to honor mothers as living images of God's character. Ultimately, it calls for humility, patience, and reliance on God's timing, while affirming the sacred role of mothers in reflecting God's grace and intercession.
