In Level 3 of the SDJ Video Game Saga, the gang tackles a boss level of discussion about sexism in gaming. We take stock of female and nonbinary characters in the games we play, misogyny and sexism with girl gamers, and the lack of diversity in the gaming community — and how all that is slowly changing. Square 50s Guy wonders how a woman can go joystick to joystick with men.

The guys return for round two of the video game discussion to hit more serious topics: toxicity in the playing of video games. They discuss the toxicity in having video games becoming an addiction, creating toxic competition, and ultimately creating a hostile behavior for some, which leads to the notion of “rage quitting” and causing violence. They also take a moment to play their own game, in the form of Are You Smarter Than a Game Character with some special video game cameo appearances.

The boys fire up their consoles to level-up their masculinity XP by diving into a conversation around video games! They share their best gaming memories, while discussing the pros and cons of video games — for kids and for adults. We catch Square 50s Guy looking lost as he wanders around a gaming store.
