The Pioneers opened their season with a 64-41 win over the Royals on a memorable night that saw Peter Schommer score his 1,000th career point late in the game.

The Pioneers lost 58-21 to the Huskies as Pierz began the Home portion of their 2019-20 season schedule. Derek Stangl earned a 5-3 decision, while Trevor Radunz, Riley Hoskins and Tanner Young earned victories by Fall.

The Pioneers made their first road trip of the season a successful one with a 50-46 win over the Wolves in Milaca.  Courtney Strohmeier scored all 13 of her points after halftime and Emily Dehler just missed a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Anna Taylor played her best game, tallying 7 points while Mariah Olesch and Emily Sadlovsky also scored 7 points each as Pierz improved to 2-0 in the Granite Ridge Conference and 3-1 overall.  

The Pioneers improved to 2-1 with a 57-35 victory over the visiting Flyers.  The win also marked the very first victory for Pierz in the Granite Ridge Conference.  Kylie Waytashek led Pierz with 14 points while Courtney Strohmeier added 12.  Samantha Tembreull led the Flyers with 9 points.

In this edition of Senior Spotlight, brought to you by You Are There Sports and the Pierz School District.  Rick Grammond visits with Katelyn Hoffman about her time in both the Choir and Band programs, her course studies and her plans to follow in her mother's footsteps into the Nursing profession.

The Pioneers dropped a 66-55 decision to the visiting Huskers in the second game of the year for both squads.  Courtney Strohmeier paced the Pioneers with 10 points, Emily Sadlovsky added 9, Amaya Rocheleau, Emily Dehler and Alissa Girtz chipped in with 7 each.  Danielle Lyon led Holdingford with 15 points, Grace Gerads had 12, Jordyn Patrick 11 and Paige Paulzine had 10 points.

The Pioneers score with :38 left in the game to come back and defeat the Chargers 28-27 to win the Prep Bowl and bring home their 4th overall State Championship and their third Class AAA Title in 5 years!

In this edition of the Senior Spotlight, we highlight Katelyn Smude, This outstanding member of the Class of 2020 at Pierz has been very active in Tennis and Track and Field as well as Band.  Katelyn also discusses her college choices and the field she is choosing to pursue.

The Pioneers began the new season with an 83-53 win over the visiting Cardinals.  After the game was tied 32-32 at halftime, Pierz erupted for 51 points in the 2nd half while the defense limed Upsala to 21 points after halftime.

This edition of the Senior Spotlight focuses on a Senior that has not spent her entire academic career at Pierz. Jaymie Bzdok sits down with Rick Grammond to discuss how she made her decision to attend Pierz and how happy she is to have made that decision.  Jaymie discusses her future plans and also provides a very interesting talk about a subject that few people know much about.
