The Australian Boxing community has been mourning the recent death of one of it's greats, Hector Thompson.
He fought for two world title and in 2005 was inducted in to the Australian Boxing Hall of Fame.
His career in similar to that of many other Aboriginal men who have tried their hand at the sport, from Lionel Rose, Dave Sands and Tony Mundine.
Between 1930-1980 Aboriginal Boxers produced a highly disproportionate fifteen percent of Australian professional champions.
