Spirituality is an idea with many descriptions. I prefer a simple approach that is nothing special and relevant in everyday living. A kind of home and garden spirituality.

A laugh a day   Keeps the downs away   Makes people smile   For a while – hopefully

Having a laugh is important. It makes everyone feel better. How about God and laughter? Might my ability to laugh influence how the Lord is perceived?

Doing it right

God never tells how I should go   But be alert to each day’s flow   Express obedience to demands   Of circumstance, what it commands

Lots of things in life we tend to get right and the importance of that must not be underestimated. Being aware that it is pleasing to the Lord lifts the soul. Perfection is not expected.

There is an art to question marks   Enjoy them while believing   When mystery starts breaking through   And intuition strengthens into certainty

We are bombarded with questions every day in the media. But one question is most important of all. It is the one to ask and reflect on.

Success is like a rainbow   A pot of gold to find   But most will live in drier days   Success, a word unkind.

Success is associated with wealth and notoriety. But is that the only way to be successful? Might a different kind of success be at least as important and open to all. A way of living that aligns with what Jesus is about.

Mindfulness encourages us to slow down. Christianity has a rich tradition in this. Rapid runner offers thoughts on calming the soul in the presence of Jesus, who is a fine helper.

Friends make a difference and put a smile on our face. In a world full of agitation that is gold. A different and great friend is Jesus, who is always close by.
