Shannon In The Morning Big Show Daily Podcast

You remember him from the movie Caddyshack as country club worker Danny Noonan, and now Michael O’Keefe is (kinda) returning to the scene of the crime!

Michael jokingly wrote an article in golf.com asking anyone playing in the upcoming Open at Winged Foot Country Club to hire him as a caddie, and what do you know, Michael will caddie for a pair of practice rounds at the 2020 US Open!

He will carry the bag of US Open first-timer Danny Balin, a New York native who is the head pro at a Long Island country club.

Michael checked in to talk about his return to the golf course and to reminisce about his time on set with Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase and Bill Murray in the 1980 classic comedy ‘Caddyshack.’

When it comes to the great quotes from the movie, Michael is quick to praise the stars of the film.

"it's a testament to the great improv skills of Chevy & Phil & Rodney & Bill" he says, "they came up with all those lines."

Michael also says he's "doing pushups" and is in top shape for his return to caddying!

"I have a 7 year old" he says, "i get in all the work i need chasing him around!"

The U.S. Open kicks off Thursday, September 17th, with practice rounds beginning September 14th.

Brad Blanks caught up with Katherine Ryan, she is a Canadian who moved to the UK to train waitresses at a Hooters Bar.

She never went back to Canada, and wound up becoming one of the most famous comedians in the UK!

On top of that, she has a sitcom on Netflix called ‘THE DUCHESS’ that comes out September 11th!

Today on the big show, we discussed the strange timing by New Jersey officials in wanting to take down flags flying on overpasses around the state.

Brad Blanks checked in to talk about his family setup for the new school year and the big upset his friend Bob Baffert's horse "Authentic" pulled off at the Kentucky Derby!

Brad Blanks caught up with William Zabka, who starred in “The Karate Kid” and “The Karate Kid Part 2” as Johnny Lawrence, the antagonist to Ralph Maccio’s Daniel LaRusso.

William is promoting the recent release of seasons 1 & 2 of “Cobra Kai” on Netflix, the sequel to the Karate Kid movies.

In Cobra Kai, Johnny is seen in a different light and not so much as a bad guy as over 30 years have passed since the infamous “crane kick.”

William says he loves playing an anti-hero on Cobra Kai after years of fans approaching him as a villain at Comic Cons.

Season 3 of Cobra Kai will be released soon on Netflix!

Today we talk about Usain Bolt announcing he has covid, false positive tests & Brad Blanks checks in & shares a story about a friend saying he got covid at a dinner party.

Brad shares a funny story about his son Harvey having to get a covid test before going for school orientation.

Today on the big show we talked about the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, 4 year old Rocco from West Virginia nailing a hole in one while playing golf with his family & the golden retriever pups who were mesmerized by a stuffed purple toy dragon!

Brad Blanks talked to veteran TV Sitcom creator Bill Lawrence, Zooming into his living room where Bill was sitting in a big armchair next to a fire place!

Bill was just 26 years old in late 1996 when he helped create the hit Michael J Fox comedy SPIN CITY & later on he helped SCRUBS become a hit!

Bill was Zooming with Brad to talk about how he helped Jason Sudeikis create the Apple TV Plus show TED LASSO, a comedy about a college football coach who goes to England to coach a soccer team.

Jim Breuer is entering uncharted territory with his next gig.

He is playing his all new comedy set "The New Normal" at the Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall… parking lot… in Paramus Sunday night August 23rd.

It’s part of the Bergen PAC Sunset Drive-in Concert Series.

Jim admits this experience may be a shock to some, but he’s confident it’s going to be fun.

“I don’t know what I’m walking into” he says, but he says that does NOT mean his material will suffer.

“I’m a storyteller, I’m a street guy, I live off the moment, I improv what I see…when I heard this I said I’m gonna have a field day with this situation!”

“The New Normal” is a special drive-in live performance with an outdoor stage, full lighting and massive LED screens set up in the lot.

Gates open at 4pm (rain or shine) & the show starts around 6pm.

The show happens at the Westfield Garden State Plaza Parking Lot, One Garden State Plaza, Paramus, NJ 07652.

Important news stories gathered from around the world, goofy news stories passed over by the mainstream media, it's knuckleheads in the news!

A Paycheck Protection deadbeat gets into an accident & gets busted, a drunk driver in England with an interesting bumper sticker & a Florida woman does something unthinkable to her husband during a cruise!

Brad Blanks took a break from his vacation to check in with Race Taylor!

Brad had a nice talk with Jason Sudeikis, who you remember from Saturday Night Live and the “Horrible Bosses” movies (and his partner is the beautiful Olivia Wilde!)

Jason is philosophical in the interview as he makes you want to hang out with his character Ted Lasso!!

TED LASSO premieres on Apple TV+ August 14th and is based on a character Jason created for NBC SPORTS and the English Premiere League Soccer back in 2013.

This is a comedy about a Kansas City College Football coach who stupidly gets hired to run an English soccer team.
