Shannon In The Morning Big Show Daily Podcast

This week, the CBS-FM Shannon in the morning big show had the chance to say their final goodbye to the place where Scott, Patty & Brad spent many years.

We start off first with reaction to the PLJ reunion party, then go to reaction to the reunion show and final day on air.

Always findScott, Patty, Brad and the rest of the big show crew broadcasting on 101.1 weekdays from 6-10am!

Season 2 of "Big Little Lies" premieres June 9th on HBO, and Brad Blanks hit the red carpet to talk to a couple of the show's stars!

First he caught up with Reese Witherspoon, who plays Madeline on the show and then a new addition to the cast for season 2, the great Meryl Streep stopped for (literally) 5 seconds to talk about playing the mother in law from hell.

"Was she jogging past you while you interviewed her" is the line you need to know about the Meryl Streep interview!

TODAY ON THE BIG SHOW:

Weatherman Jamie Simpson in Dayton, Ohio hilariously gets pissed on air because people are complaining his breaking weather report cut into the Bachelorette! John Elliott almost lost it himself in his own weather rant!

3:27 - Brad Blanks caught up with Julianne Hough about her new gig as "America's Got Talent" judge and it leads us to unearth a classic big show clip from 2016 when someone on the show thought it was "cute" when Julianne & friends went bottomless on a boat and shared the photo on Instagram.

Catch up on the big show! We recap the Summer blastoff, find out how you can golf with Scott & Jon Bongiovi Sr and catch up on all the wacky stories we shared today: The bull who stuck his horn where it shouldn't be, the wacky car chase and the man who did an emergency c-section on a deceased fox!

Today on the big show we had a 5-time World Series champion & CY Young award winner! David Cone checked in with fun stories any baseball fan will appreciate from his latest book...

David’s book written with YES network analyst Jack Curry “Full Count: The Education of a Pitcher” is out now in stores and online at www.Amazon.com

David shared stories of his time with the Yankees and Mets on the big show, specifically the inning before completing his perfect game in 1998 in the Bronx, “nobody would even look at me so I had to talk to myself” he says “so I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and had a conversation with myself.”

David’s signing the book May 15th at 1pm at the Barnes & Noble on 5th avenue in Manhattan, May 16th at 6pm at Book Revue in Huntington & May 18th at 7pm at Books & Greeting in Northvale, New Jersey.

Catch David as an analyst for Yankees games on the YES Network.

He's a singer, songwriter, guitarist, actor & DJ…a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer with the E Street Band & he started the Netflix original series with ‘Lillyhammer!' But Steven Van Zandt's latest visit to the big show was all about his new music!

His new album with the Disciples of Soul “Summer of Sorcery” is out now in stores, on iTunes and at Amazon. We debuted his first single “Love Again” on air, which had a nice throwback feel to it and paid homage to New York City!

Steven also touched on his site www.teachrock.org and how he's inviting teachers to attend shows on his current tour for free to help inspire students through music!

Little Steven & the Disciple of Souls play the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park May 8th for his east coast album premiere party, the Paramount in Huntington July 18th and the Beacon Theater November 6th, tickets on sale now at www.ticketmaster.com.

Brad Blanks caught up with Seth Rogen & Charlize Theron on the red carpet of their new movie "Long Shot."

It's an odd couple pairing with Charlize playing Charlotte Field, the Secretary of State who is hoping to become President. Seth plays Fred Flarsky, a speechwriter who eventually works on Charlotte's speeches....the catch? Field used to babysit Flarsky when he was a kid and he hasn't gotten over his boyhood crush!

"Long Shot" hits theaters May 3rd and Brad got in a quick chat with the quirky co- stars in advance of the premiere. Brad wore a Seth Rogen inspired jacket to try and get a rise out of him!

Catch up on today's big show!

Today we talked about the new potato hotel out west, people dying taking selfies on mountains & cliffs, axe bars popping up in Brooklyn, the latest on Jeopardy including a Panic at the Disco/Fallout Boy question goofup, getting sick of talking about Jussie Smollette & much more!

In case you did not know, former Styx front man Dennis DeYoung likes to tell jokes, so much so we have to give a disclaimer when we checks in for his annual big show interview!

This year was no different, Dennis kinda made us laugh while promoting his show at the St. George Theater in Staten Island April 26th. He's celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Styx album "The Grand Illusion" and will play the album in it's entirety (of course that album includes the classic "Come Sail Away!").

Tickets for the show are available at www.ticketmaster.com or the St. George Theater box office, but be warned, there's a comedy act that night as well!

The final season of Game of Thrones is upon us, and our international correspondent Brad Blanks hit the red carpet for the premiere episode of the 8th season!

Some of the finest actors & actresses from Westeros chatted with Brad about the final season, including Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Carice Van Houten, Aiden Gillen, Kristofer Hivju, Rory McCann & Kristian Nairn!

Here's the rundown of Brad's interviews in order, with some commentary by the Big Show on a few:

SANSA & ARYA – Brad talks to Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark & Maisie Williams jumps in at one point of the interview (she plays Sansa’s sister Arya Stark). Sophie is engaged to Jonas Brother Joe Jonas and Masie’s going to be her maid of honor. Sophie remembers Brad from previous interviews as long as 5 years ago.

THE RED WITCH – Brad talks to Carice Van Houten, who plays Melisandre “The Red Witch” – she brought Jon Snow back to life a couple of seasons ago but also burned a little girl alive, so people love her and hate her. She’s beautiful in person but in a mirror, she’s a wrinkly old lady!

LITTLE FINGER – Brad talks to one of the more evil characters in the entire Game of Thrones series Aiden Gillen, who plays Petyr Baelish, aka “Little Finger.” Why is he so bad? He betrayed Ned Stark which led to his beheading and attempted to kill Bran Stark and obsessed over Sansa. He was killed by Arya in last season’s finale but there are conspiracy theories out there saying he is still alive. Brad felt bad for him on the red carpet because he was one of the few deceased characters still out there promoting the show!

TORMUND – Brad talks to Kristofer Hivju, who plays Tormund Giantsbane of the Wildlings, he recently joined team Jon Snow after years of being a sworn enemy of the Starks. He’s got the bright red beard everyone loves!

THE HOUND – Brad talks to Rory McCann, who plays Sandor Clegane, better known as “The Hound” – He’s one of the characters who started out as a very bad guy and has turned into a fan favorite good guy.

HODOR – Brad talks to Kristian Nairn, who played Wylis, the Stark house servant we know as ‘Hodor’ because he only said that one word. He sacrificed himself and saved Bran Stark from the Night King by “holding the door.”
