It has been a topic of conversation here in the low lands of western Kentucky as to whether or not training in the heat can be compared to altitude training. In this episode, I go through several articles citing different studies to help us get a better understanding as to how our fitness increases in the muggy swelter of Kentucky summer!

IT IS SO GOOD TO BE BACK! And we're going to get deep. Negative body image has been something that I've lived with my entire life. You would think now that I'm in the best shape I've ever been in and a 50+ mile per week runner that would go away right? Nope. In this episode, I am going to be totally transparent. I will be citing studies and terminology to help us better understand what it is we're up against.

We are in a dark time. Centuries of evil and ugliness that is American oppression of its Black citizens has boiled over with the consecutive accounts of police brutality ending in MURDER of a black man or woman over the past couple of months. Today, I am discussing, briefly, my thoughts, my connection, and my actions as an ally during this time - including a mileage pledge fundraiser for Louisville Mutual Aid.

Dylan is back! Friend of the show. In large part, he is responsible for the awesome running community that we have built here locally. Today, we're going a little darker. DNF. Two of em. Brutal. This episode is immensely entertaining. If you don't know a lot about ultra marathons, don't worry, we will keep you up to speed.

JOLO IN THE HOUSE!!!! Jordan has completed multiple half and full Iron Man triathlons, a plethora of marathons, and a handful of 50ksher short distance events,. Honestly, I'm always excited to have Jordan on. We have a lot of conversations in our hangs that I think could make it onto the pod. This week he is going to tell us about his 2017 Stump Jump 50k in 2017. Afterward, I talk virtually racing and, briefly, about seasonal acclimation. [NSFW]

Not all finish lines bring joy. Expectations can make for a long fall. Roby is a killer athlete, but even the best have bad days. In this episode, we talk about what led up to his 2018 Indy race and the aftermath.

No, this is not another installment of the Khan saga of Star Trek. This is even better. At 23 years old, Kallin Khan is starting to break through the surface of the running elite. In his marathon season last year, he was knocking at the door of an Olympic Trials Qualifier. Not to be discouraged, he moved on to the Spring of the Ultra. During which, he won and set a course record at Psycho Wyco 50K, placing a 9th and running a World's qualifying time at the USATF Road 50K Championships, coming in 3rd in the 50 Mile Trail Championships. WOAH!
