Tawheed al-Ruboobiya.

To believe and establish that Allah is One in His Lordship. He alone is the creator, provider and controller of all affairs. He alone gives life and causes death. He has no partners in that.

A person who only establishes Tawheed al-Ruboobiya is not a muwahid unless they also establish what it necessitates, i.e. Tawheed al-Uloohiyah.

Evidence for this from Surat Yusuf and Surat al-Baqarah.

The basis for the categorisation of the deen into three categories is the famous hadith of Jibreel.

Ihsaan is the highest category. You cannot attain Ihsaan until you have achieved Islam and Imaan.
