This mini-episode is a reminder of the topics covered in this year's theme of encouragement to Make 2022 the Year of You! Visit my website for all the links to those topics and mini-episodes surrounding that theme! As I wrap-up this theme, I'm sharing a final thought and possibly a different perspective on comparison. I found a refreshing article on embracing comparison through Thrive Global that I'm sharing! The author's take is comparing yourself with the right people – including yourself - AND coming from the best frame of mind. I'm hoping that sheds some light into a different perspective. Let me know how it works for you!
It was her love of the entertainment industry that gave Jody McIntyre the courage to move to Los Angeles at a young age and work hard to land a job for a well-known television and movie production company. After months of working to land a job there, she took an entry-level position. Not where she wanted to be, but she knew that job would get her foot in the door and she would have the opportunity to demonstrate her strong work-ethic. That proved to be a great decision as she worked her way into other roles where she excelled. Her time in Studio City added up to over twenty-five years before she returned to her favorite city, Tulsa, to raise her kids. In this visit, you’ll learn how Jody’s life has come full circle, including more about her time in the entertainment industry in California, working as a local television producer for the past eighteen years and her excitement about her new role at the Circle Cinema. And you'll also find out who Jody had the opportunity to babysit as a child who grew up to become a major star!

Lisa Mast enjoyed over twenty years as a Music Educator and Chorale conductor at various age levels before she felt a shift to make a change. Now, as the founder of Scissortail Digital, she educates and assists clients in their digital photo organizing and storage needs. This change still incorporates her love of educating, storytelling and creativity. During our visit, she will share more about her journey, the path to entrepreneurship and her current business.
Are you familiar with the phrases, “Dress for Success, “Dress for the Way You Want to be Seen,” or “You never get a second chance to make a first impression”? The clothes you wear are part of your personal brand. They share a little about who you are before you even open your mouth. In this podcast, I visit with a Master Stylist for Women, Kelly Mize Holley. She shares about her shyness growing up and how she was able to help overcome that through her choice in fashion. We also talk about her entrepreneurial background and owning a clothing boutique for over ten years and what she learned from that experience. She also shares more about her current business and how she’s on a mission to help women be the best they can be by transforming one closet at a time.
Kate Atkinson is always up for an adventure. One of her biggest adventures happened after college when she attended culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Prior to enrolling full time, she took a class to get her feet wet and realized that she was in her element. She soaked up the knowledge and embraced her experience living abroad.
Fast-forward several years. Following a divorce, she relocated from Los Angeles back to Tulsa and shortly after doing so had an opportunity to be a personal chef for film director and producer Martin Scorsese while he was in Oklahoma filming Killers of the Flower Moon. She decided to pursue that opportunity, even though the timing was less than ideal.
Our discussion will share more about that amazing opportunity! You'll also learn about her superpower and her new interesting hobby that has her flying high!
This week I'm visiting with Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Tina Parkhill. After approximately twenty years working for various companies in consultative based sales and management positions, Tina opened her own business twelve years ago, Parkhill's Liquor and Wine South.
In this episode you'll hear from Tina about her journey to college at Oklahoma State University and becoming the first female in her family to earn a college degree. You'll also learn about her professional journey following college and how she became interested in opening her own business. She even shares some valuable information for people thinking about starting a business.
We also touch on what characteristics Tina attributes to her success, the importance of a work-life balance and what she's passionate about right now.
Yahoo! I did it! Last week I got to check off a major bucket list item - hiking the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim. This goal provided an incredible opportunity to train, both mentally and physically, and experience one of the Seven Wonders of the World up close and personal. This podcast shares a little of my journey as well as my answers of the top three questions I received the most about this trip! I also share why I think it's important to have a bucket list! Check out my website, SharingPassionandPurpose.com, for photos and resources from this trip!

During our visit, Tia shares why she left her teaching job to pursue the brownie business, what has been difficult and her forward-thinking mindset about the future of her business!
Mia Mascarin-Oven is a fourth-generation wine maker living in Tulsa. She joined the family wine business, 32 Winds Wine, shortly after her father realized his own life-long dream of starting a wine business and opened the vineyard in 2009. Prior to joining the venture, she logged twenty plus years working in the energy industry.
Mia’s family left California and moved to Oklahoma, where she grew up and went to high school. She stayed close to her Italian immigrant family back in California through frequent visits to the family farm. She and her father decided to deepen their ties to their California roots by embarking on the adventure of starting a winery there. Her job duties are primarily accomplished remotely, so she is able to live anywhere and enjoys the city and lifestyle that Tulsa provides.
Mia is extremely passionate about giving back to the community and does so in a variety of ways. This interview shares more about Mia, her background of over a decade in the family wine business and why she thinks it’s important to give-back.
