This week Jay & Ben discuss the new proposed City-Toll that may be coming to the Vancouver core! This is just currently a proposal from a 3rd party group that is being proposed in the coming weeks here in vancouver. If passed everything is planned to be implemented by the mid-2020's (2025?) There are no set numbers yet about what the toll will cost to pay-by. However there are rough estimates of $500 million to implement and that it will roughly collect $250 million/year in tolls.  There is also talk that something like this could remove the current $0.17/litre of Carbon Tax that is currently in place here in BC.   What do you think will happen? This week Jay & Ben discuss the recently announced Vancouver Mayors new Making H.O.M.E (Housing Options for Middle Income Earners) program. Is it going to work? Is it necessary? Is it needed?  This is a program that allows for an adjustment of the Lot density of 100 selected homes to essentially stratify and dedicate some of the units to Middle Income Earners. It is still unknown who will get this opportunity, if it will actually add units to the inventory of the city or when it will go forward.  However the city is adding density to the very strict zoning bylaws in the city of Vancouver which we believe is very necessary.
