Six years after the Hijrah was the first time, since leaving their home in Makkah, that the early Sahabahs were given the chance to make Umrah to the Kabah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ announced that he was going and thousands of Sahabahs were eager to travel with him. Throughout their journey, tears of joy and anticipation were falling as they were chanting the Talbiyah – “Here I am at your service, Oh Allah! Here I am!”

They were stopped by the Quraysh at Hudaybiyyah, on the outskirts of Makkah, where they could see the Kabah in the near distance. What followed tested the early Muslims; those first followers of Sayyiduna Rasulullah ﷺ.

This incident, which I talk about in this selected clip, is a strong lesson for all of us. How many times have we ignored the Sunnah of the Best of Examples ﷺ? How many times have we looked past the teachings of The Chosen, The Elect, Sayyiduna Rasulullah ﷺ? How many times have we chosen to follow our own decisions and our own thinking and our own path? 

We ask Almighty Allah SWT to Elevate the Status of Sayyiduna Rasulullah ﷺ. We ask Almighty Allah SWT to Make it Easy for us to understand and follow the Sunnah of Sayyiduna Rasulullah ﷺ. And we ask Almighty Allah SWT to Solidify within us Mahabatur Rasul. Ameen.

Everyone everywhere – from the person you pass on the street to your loved ones in your home – feel the difficulties and frustrations that life unexpectedly brings. All of us are no stranger to things in life that just don’t go our way. And sometimes those frustrations of non-progress led us towards losing heart from day to day. But understand that you should not give up and adapt a nihilistic attitude. This isn’t the attitude of the Best of Examples, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ!

From the teachings of Sayyiduna Rasulullah ﷺ that we address here, you will be able to deal with these day to day obstacles in a more efficient and meaningful way. You will be able to reclaim happiness in your life, insha-Allah.
