Have you ever wished you could drink like other people?
I did.
For years, I wanted so badly to be able to moderate.
To drink only on special occasions. To pour a glass only to elevate a good time, not to solve a bad mood or remedy a crappy day.
But over and over, I failed.
I'd try to moderate, but I'd overdo it. I'd want to take a break from drinking, but after a few days, I'd slide back into my familiar Yeti full of ice, LaCroix and Tito's at the end of a long day.
And then, repeat that until I slipped into a deep sleep.
Only to wake up at 2am with dry mouth, a racing heartbeat and feeling lower than I had that afternoon before.
Finally, it happened.
In 2021, I took a break from drinking.
I started life coaching. I rediscovered my life. I finally felt like I was thriving again.
I loved not drinking, but after a while, I got tired of saying 'no.'
And so after nearly 2.5 years of not drinking, this past summer, I dabbled.
I started drinking on vacation.
In this episode of She Just Glows: The Podcast, I'm keeping things real and sharing why I decided to drink again, and how that choice only underscores why I don't drink in the first place.
