China-based fast fashion brand Shein recently invited some American TikTok influencers to tour one of their factories in an apparent effort to improve their public image amid allegations of poor working conditions and low pay for workers. One influencer initially made a video defending her involvement with the trip, but after massive backlash has issued an apology. What’s really going on here, and did she deserve to be canceled?
