Dr. Kendall Hassemer, ND is a Nutrition + Wellbeing Expert, Lover of the Outdoors, Craniosacral Therapist, Earth Advocate and Yoga Instructor.

Her struggle with stress in her life from a young child turned into chronic debilitating asthma.  She thought she would never be able to do all the things she now enjoys in her life.  Her own life story is her inspiration for how she helps and supports others.

Anastasia shares her story in healing through horses.  

She has worked with horses in a therapeutic way for years and is now traveling the world creating a documentary about the power of healing through horses.

This conversation was so inspiring for me as I am diving into the world of equine assisted therapy and have been experiencing great healing over the last in relationship with these powerful beings

Her documentary, Equus: Healing Through Horses,  is all about enlightening the world how horses can facilitate a level of healing that we as humans don't easily have access to because they communicate in a whole different way.  

There are so many great programs out there that involve equines and I wholeheartedly encourage any woman who has experienced trauma check out how horses could support your healing.

Arkady talks with us about the body image and the beauty of our vulvas by sharing her project, The Vulva Art Project, with us.

We met through a mutual friend and one day she called me and said she had this project. When she told me about it, I had a full YES! this needs to be done.

Arkady realized through her work, as a Fine Art Boudoir Photographer, she kept witnessing the shame that women have around their bodies.  She dug deeper and found that a lot of shame is held in your most sacred part of our body, the part of our body that makes us women, our vulvas. 

Arkady has had her own issues with body image shaming, struggled with eating disorders and feels like this is a part of her own healing process. 

I have been working with the project and the healing that is happening for the women involved in this project is profound and amazing!

The lovely Melody talks with us about her journey with anxiety and depression and how Yoga Therapy helped her to feel safe in her body.

Melody is a Yoga teacher, yoga therapist, massage practitioner, foodie, nature enthusiast, wild dancer, wave rider, integrative medicine student, vocal explorer, Ariel silk acrobat, and bold lover of life. 

Melody and I met in Tofino, BC playing in the water on our surfboards. We shared common interests and soon realized we were healing similar challenges.  We have watched each other grow from our first yoga classes and trainings.

Now Melody is in school to become a TCM and she is also a Yoga Therapist and Massage Practitioner.  She infuses everything that she learns into her self-practice and the way she walks through life.  Her classes and workshops are full of wisdom and playfulness.

Grief and death are such a taboo subject and Jainee speaks about it so beautifully.

Wow, what a powerful chat this was.  There were many moments where I had tears in my eyes and my heart was full of emotion. My heart feels full and warm after connecting with Jainee.

Her experience of working with grief and the unique way she embraced it, is a powerful offering for all of us.

She speaks of her most used practice of writing as a tool for healing, ceremony as what is sacred to you and a necessary way of honoring who and what has passed.

The chapters, as Jainee says, of grief, are a way of measuring what how far you have come on a path and that path does not have a goal or a destination. We do not forget those we have lost and wake up one day saying I am done with this, but we do wake up as time goes, and find a deeper acceptance of what is.

Alice Bracegirdle shares so much more than just about body image in the fitness industry.  Becoming a single mother after leaving a violent relationship, showed her just how hard life can get.  From there BellyFit was born and she has been on a path of helping women heal their idea of what their body should or should not look like.

She is an advocate for positive body image in honoring the female body.  Alice was able, through her advocacy, get an advertisement changed on the back of a bus in Victoria BC, that was body shaming.

Emily shares how her near-death experience as a child ignited her intuition which has guided her on her own unique path of spirituality.

She follows her intuition with herself and her students.  She has experienced lifetimes of trauma in her life and shares very openly about her journey with it.

Emily has so much to share and is full of life.  Her big energy is inspiring and I felt like I was experiencing her life as she told it.  She is a living example of how you can connect to your purpose, no matter how hard life can get, and in that life will take care of you.  Sometimes those desperate times are when we are raw enough get the clarity we need to move forward.

Uncovering past trauma that we bury so deeply because we can't deal with that in the moment, can be healed once we have the tools and support to deal with them. She shares how it creates more compassion in her life.

Nutrition is a foundational part of the recovery process, especially with addiction.

Hollis shares her own story of how it took her starting to lose her vision after her struggle with addiction, to really dig into her own path of healing.

We talk about addiction and how we can be set up for addictive tendencies from when we are a baby, even if addiction does not run in your family, based on the health of your gut.

Nutrition was her first access point to living a healthy life that supports healing.   Her work is geared towards recovery around addiction, auto-immune disease and gut healing.

She is not only a joy to work with but she lives what she teaches. She is a constant inspiration to me with her recipes, our vulnerable talks about our addictions we have worked through, and the giggles we have as we play in the surf.  She treats her clients as her friends and her programs are always packed full of great information.

Hollis also uses the wisdom of the body, with her muscle testing, to help guide her clients to find what will be best for their own unique physical makeup.  Along with other protocols that address your whole life as an opportunity to nourish and love yourself, she makes healing fun.
