This month on Shelf Check we explore some of the works by master manga creators that you may not have heard of! Listen and find out where the inspiration of some of your favorite titles came from, and how the careers of the masters began.

In this episode we break down 11 isekai titles that our Head Librarian does NOT, in fact, hate. Also included are some summer updates and Q&A from our Discord server!

I was on the road for over half the month of May. I drove through a total of eight states in sixteen days and I was just too blasted to finish the Isekai episode (WHICH IS HUGE). So that will be next month. Until then, enjoy the live antics of our Head Librarian!

This month’s episode features titles that all revolve around some sort of twist. And not all of them are what you think!

Episode 8 of Shelf Check features a live panel recording of WTF Did I Just Read?!, a panel presented by the Head Librarian at Zenkaikon 2024. Regular episodes will resume next month.

In this month’s episode we explore love in all it’s wacky and adorable forms, answer questions about manga crushes, and talk about our appearances in February!

Episode 6 of our podcast is full of suggestions for those of us who are already having a long 2024. Sometimes the world is harsh and we need to read something that makes us feel better or gives us a much-needed escape.

Please forgive the late posting of December’s episode of our Shelf Check podcast! We will be discussing several amazing books that our Head Librarian read this year.

The next episode will still be posted in January, so you guys get two episodes in January. Remember to join our Discord (link on our website, http://www.carolinamangalibrary.com).

Happy new year!
