We’ve all got some strength, and Samson had a lot of it. And that’s good! Except when our strength becomes our Strength.

A weekend up north, or at the lake. A vacation. Time away. They’re wonderful, they’re good, they’re great! But they’re not the ultimate. What I really need is the One behind all those good things. The One who made the good. That’s what Jesus shows Nicodemus, and it’s what we see on Trinity Sunday.

Peter was announcing the change that took place in his own heart. His faith had grown, he realized something new: just how true it is that God doesn't show favoritism. And that means that #1: You're not outside God's borders, and #2: Neither is anyone else! Happy Pentecost!

This sermon is a bit of a departure from normal. We celebrated the learning that 3 young people have done over the past 2 years, and the sermon today centered on their 3 "confirmation" verses: Romans 5:1; Romans 8:38-39, and Hebrews 12:1. Enjoy!

The boos thundered across the ancient world when God stepped up to the microphone and announced his decision. I pick..."Saul of Tarsus." People wondered, "Why him? He's not qualified!" God always picks those unqualified--it was true of Saul, and it's true of you, too.

Being faithful can be painful. Being a good friend, family member, coworker...it can all be painful. Stephen found that out in the biggest way. But in his dying moments, he saw the one standing up for him...the same one who stands up for you.

Acts 2:42 is often cited as the goal for a church. "Let's be like that." And there is certainly much to admire and emulate about the church detailed in these verses. But: could there be another perspective...are these verses about more than that? Our answer today: yes.

How does the family of God grow? What happens to make that happen? If you know someone that you want to be part of God's family...well how does that work? We get a clear answer from Peter's sermon that he preached to thousands upon thousands of people.

What does Easter mean for you? You don't need to be afraid. Afraid of being found out. Because you've already been found out...and God still loves you.
