Happy Halloween everybody! Rachael and Ansel are back from hiatus to scare you with..... a pretty boring movie! That's right, after a preliminary episode of ranting about Jack the Ripper, it's time to pay it off with the 1979 film Murder by Decree in which Sherlock Holmes unravels the dumb conspiracy behind the Ripper killings. Caution: Freemasonry!

This week on Sherlock Says, we gear up for a review of Murder by Decree (1979) by letting Rachael loose on the whole Jack the Ripper milieu for like two whole hours. There's a lot to be said, and now's as good a time as any to say it.
We will be on a roughly month long hiatus after this episode because Ansel is getting married, so we'll see you lovely folks around Halloween!
Content Warning: Sexual violence, police brutality, misogyny, racism, antisemitism, y'know, the Jack the Ripper stuff
Also, as a personal note from the editor, don't look up that Mary Jane Kelly picture. I'm not someone who is very affected by visual gore and the like, and I'm still haunted by it. You don't need that landmine buried in your unconscious.

Welcome back to Sherlock Says! This week, your hosts Ansel and Rachael are joined by streamer and performer Eiledon to discuss The Adventure of the Six Napoleons, a well-known story that was in Doyle's personal top 10 for little discernible reason because it kinda sucks.
But actually we're gonna talk about Assassin's Creed 2 slash fic instead.

Apologies for the lateness of the episode, your humble editor was moving into your humble host's apartment and forgot to schedule the episode! This time on Sherlock Says, your hosts Rachael and Ansel are covering the 1971 film They Might Be Giants about a judge who succumbs to a delusion that he is Sherlock Holmes.
And yes, that's where they got the name.

Hey ho hey it's Sherlock Says! This week, your hosts Rachael and Ansel are joined by Katie Grace Hennen to discuss The Adventure of the Abbey Grange, the best Sherlock Holmes story to feature the description of someone's head being smashed like a rotten pumpkin! I would have made more Smashing Pumpkins references in this description but I genuinely do not care for them, and also the world is demonstrably not a vampire, no matter what that guy says.

Seriously, don't read The Adventure of the Three Gables. Rachael and Ansel got Travonta back and she volunteered for this one, and we still feel bad about it.
Content Warning: Racism! Like, an astonishing amount of racism!

Well, we did the con and it was fun, but we failed to record the audio correctly (we tried!) so this was what we got. It's going up for archival and schedule keeping purposes, but it's borderline unlistenable so don't feel the need to push through if it makes your ears bleed.
Speaking of schedules, the aforesaid con has upset schedules! We'll be pushing our next episode back a week, so we'll see you again on July 28th from a much more controlled audio environment! Thanks for understanding.
Special thanks to Not Your Mother’s Mahabharata Podcast for valiantly providing us an extra mic to try to salvage the situation.

Welcome back to Sherlock Says! This week, Ansel and Rachael are rejoined by friend of the pod Rob Ward to discuss The Adventure of the Priory School, a short story about estranged relations between fathers and sons that seems....... a bit familiar? Arthur? Do you read these stories back to yourself at all?

Welcome back to Sherlock Says! In this episode, Rachael and Ansel are rejoined by friend of the pod John Bode to re-enter they Meyerverse with the 1976 film adaptation of The Seven Per Cent Solution. Get ready for cocaine, new and disappointing racism, and the most intelligent horses in the world - but watch out!
Come see Rachael in King John here!

Time to pop the poppers and open the weird confetti dispenser ball things, because it's our centenary episode of Sherlock Says! This week, Ansel and Rachael are joined by the Artistic Director of the Walking Shadow Theatre Company John Heimbuch to discuss an all-time favorite Holmes story, The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton. Which is named ambiguously because he doesn't have an adventure in it, unless you count dying.
