Following Jesus isn’t about trying harder to be good. It’s about listening better to the Voice that has the power to transform us from the inside out. Every believer can hear that Voice if we know what to listen for!

The Wisdom of James – final thoughts and instructions.

Wisdom and wealth have a conflicted relationship, so for entrepreneurs and business leaders, there’s a fine line between planning in a posture of prayer and planning in the posture of presumption.

When handled with wisdom, power becomes power for and power with and not power over. Power for empowers others; power with shares power; power over dominates others.

It takes a lifetime to become wise. Those dedicated to growing in wisdom are not on an ambitious quest for power, but for goodness.

Speech is the far frontier and fiercest opponent in our fight to subdue sin.

Wise faith is merciful faith. Faith without mercy is not faith...

Turn from prejudice to mercy. Treat the poor and the rich as equally loved and valued brothers and sister.

To hear God is to grasp Him speaking to us in Christ, by His Spirit, and through the Scriptures. To do the word is to listen to His ‘voice’ and then to live it.
