The quote, “Comparison is the thief of joy,” attributed to President Theodore Roosevelt and others, is so true when we think what others do/have/are being is better than what we are experiencing. However, when we compare ourselves to others with the belief and understanding that because someone else has accomplished certain tasks or goals, not only can those things be done, but they could in fact be done by us too! There is a process to success, goals to be set and steps to be taken. Logically speaking, if we follow the same steps that a successful person did, we can get the same, similar or even better results. This solo episode (with Felicia only) is right on time for Gael and I because we have both been pushing ourselves - a lot. True, we've both got lots of exciting things going on in our lives (new puppy for Gael; new hometown for Felicia). Many business owners have what might be known as "entrepreneurial ADD." Whether we take on too much because we think we can conquer the world or just because we're curious about trying something different, starting new projects can begin with a lot of excitement and momentum - and then slow down, stall. We both have projects in the works that have promise, possibility and potential profits in them. Even so, we - like many business owners - sometimes have to reassess our plans to see if everything on our plate is still a good idea. Some practical ideas we pondered to sort through the haze include meditation, self reflection, using a pro and con list, among others.
