Shielded

Genesis 37 begins the Joseph narrative, the brothers’ envy and hatred, fueled by favoritism and Joseph’s dreams, lead to betrayal and deception—sin fractures the covenant family.

In Genesis 30–36, Jacob’s journey is filled with family conflict, fear, faith, and transformation. Jacob builds a large family, separates from Laban, wrestles with God, receives the new name Israel, and finally comes face-to-face with his brother Esau after years of separation. In this episode, we explore Jacob’s return to the Promised Land, his powerful encounter with God, the unexpected reconciliation between Jacob and Esau, and his return to Bethel.

Through every struggle, broken relationship, and uncertain step, we see God faithfully keeping His promises. Join us for this Genesis 30–36 Bible study as we discover what Jacob’s story teaches us about surrender, reconciliation, obedience, and trusting God through life’s messiest seasons.

Genesis 32:33 Hebrew Bible Translation "That is why the Children of Israel to this day, do not eat thigh muscle that is on the socket of the hip, since Jacob's hip socket was wrenched at the thigh muscle."

Jacob and Esau’s story begins before they are even born! In Genesis 25, Rebekah gives birth to twin sons whose rivalry, personalities, and choices will shape generations to come. In this episode, we explore the birth of Jacob and Esau, God’s surprising prophecy about their futures, and the moment Esau trades his birthright for a bowl of stew. Join us as we uncover lessons about family, faith, impatience, and trusting God’s plan—even when His ways are unexpected. To follow along in your own Bible, open up to Genesis chapters 25-30.
