  • Shielded Voices : Part 2 Adam Meyers #008

We're excited to welcome Adam Meyers back for Episode 2 of Shielded Voices:

Welcome back to another episode of Shielded Voices, where we shine a light on the realities of law enforcement and mental health. I'm Mitch, here with my co-host Brian, and today we're diving into Part 2 of our conversation with Adam Meyers from ‘Stop the Threat - Stop the Stigma.'

In Part 1, we peeled back the layers of stigma surrounding mental health in law enforcement, sharing personal struggles and the challenges we face when seeking help. Today, we'll pick up where we left off and dig deeper into breaking down those barriers, highlighting the importance of resilience and support within the First Responder community.

Remember, if you or someone you know is struggling, it's okay to not be okay—but it's not okay to stay silent. Reach out to a trusted friend, peer support, or the resources available to you. And if you notice someone in your circle who might be struggling, don't hesitate to check in. A simple conversation could be the lifeline they need.

This is Shielded Voices—let's continue the conversation.

  • Gabe's GoFundMe Annoucement

    Directly from GoFundMe:

"My name is Michelle and I'm fundraising on behalf of my best friends who have just received devastating and unexpected news.

Gabe has been diagnosed with a Blastoma Brain Tumor and will be out of work for the foreseeable future while a specific diagnosis is pending and a treatment plan determined.
Gabe and his Wife have been together since 2015 and supported each other through many phases of life. They were engaged in 2020 and married in 2021. They purchased their first home in 2022 and welcomed their son at the end of 2023.
In December 2024, just days before their son's first birthday, Gabe suffered a medical event and sought attention at the ER. Every test was negative, but his case was complicated enough to warrant an MRI. The initial MRI results uncovered a tumor. After the results had been shared with Gabe and his Wife, he experienced a Grand Mal Seizure. It was evident that he needed additional medical attention, so he was transferred to another hospital to get a biopsy completed as fast as possible. The biopsy results determined the tumor is a Blastoma, but type and grade are still to be determined. Gabe is on medication to control the seizures while awaiting further appointments with Oncology.
Many have reached out and asked for a GoFundMe to support Gabe and his Wife during this stressful time. Please consider donating, and know that I will update the GoFundMe as new information becomes available."
