Globally, we've drastically shifted and maybe you feel like what's the point of creating, dreaming, or doing ANYTHING except surviving. I have felt this, but it would be a waste of our life to simply just survive. God's Word encourages us to grow in all that we do for His glory! 

In season 2, we've talked about the shifts in culture, religion, politics, and the like. In our second episode, we discussed that the goal is to remove distraction and be focused on the task at hand (work, school, your marriage, your kids, church, etc.). In this episode, we will discuss how in moments of tension is when we should grow...THE MOST! Hope you're encouraged to Grow, Baby Grow!

As I wrap up season one of The Shift Changer Podcast, I sat down with my friend, Mike Rosas to talk about a topic we are both passionate about: Servant Leadership. I sit down and talk with my lovely friend, Stephanie Jones. Stephanie is in an amazing wife, mama, newly fur mama, loves to capture beautiful family moments through photography among many other things. I barely knew Stephanie when I called her in 2017, but she mentioned in one of our photo sessions that she had experienced postpartum depression. In the middle of an extremely emotional moment where I felt I was spiraling, I called her. She stayed on the phone with me letting me talk it out, cry it out, and prayed for me. She then encouraged me to find a counselor. She would text me to check on me and send me encouraging scripture verses. Through that experience we became friends.

Native to Houston, Lorna is the wife to Tauren Wells and a mother to 3 with bundle of joy on the way! She's also an amazing singer, a lover of God, her family, and people. I started following her on Instagram and then on her blog, Alive and Wells, where she keeps it real while sharing the goodness of God! What really stopped me in my tracks that lead me to reach out to her was a post she made about Purity. She mentioned in her post about values her and her husband, Tauren, teach their kids monthly and they find a verse that goes along with that value. As a mother trying to do the same thing, I am inspired by her pursuit to instill Biblical values to her children. Lorna shares her wisdom that I believe all women can gleam from, not only mothers.

I - Intentionality. Be intentional with your kids. If you don't plan and think it out, it won't happen. There is some work to be done in the background in teaching your children, but they are worth your time & investment.

In honor of breast cancer month, I asked my friend Amanda Lips to talk about her journey through breast cancer and COVID. Amanda is a Leader of fun, the CEO of Pete's Plug , Co-founder of Petals & Pastry, and Partner at Forever Trends, LLC. She is an overall fierce woman who enters hard challenges with the intentionality of finding the F U N in that trial while also being her authentic self - not denying the difficulty of the matter. Cancer, COVID, and any other hardship do not define her - they leverage her dreams. Her heart, her passion, and her tenacity is invigorating! She was one of the first MDA cancer patient (who is in remission) who was diagnosed with COVID in Houston March 2020 and used her time in quarantine to explore her creativity! During that time, her friend, Anna, who was unemployed and her were talking while Anna was making cookies - and behold a business was born: Petals & Pastry!
