This is a podcast based on History of Medical entrance systems, in Maharashtra- those evolved over a period of time.
The journey of MH-CET exams that began in the year 1999, as a state medical entrance exams to today's NEET UG exams, is explained in this podcasts.
The NEET exam reinstated after 2013 again in 2016, by a decision taken by Parliament of India. The idea of one nation one CET unified the educational sector of India via this decision.
My approach is to tell students, their parents and few people from mainstream as well as social media, so that this journey of shift in learning framework, can be useful for them, before we begin with the podcasts based on various topics of Biology.
There used to be a system of updating the syllabi of state board, every ten years in Maharashtra, since early 1980s .
The junior college syllabus, now redefined as "senior secondary curriculum" today , used to change every ten years. In 1986 to 1996 - there was no topic of Human anatomy and Physiology. Instead there were two species in zoology, for the study of Zoology especially. One was Rana tigrina / the common frog. And other was Pheretima posthuma, earthworm as an invertebrate example.
the change in 1996, included Human Biology first time in state syllabus of Maharashtra . Eventually after three years,
Maharashtra state entrance exams started a new change in method of selection of eligible candidates in Medical colleges. MHCET took lots of twists and turns, till NEET exam became only one exam to be conducted for admissions in all medical colleges of India, in the year 2012.
In 2014, NEET was canceled and then it was reinstated in 2016 again. In this Marathi podcast, I have tried to cover this journey.
Three things began to change the educational canvas of "Naya bharat" - NEP , NCERT's effort to add an Indic ethos to learning and to some extent the NEP - National education policy.
