Shine a Light

Today we welcome Kelly Convey to the show.

Kelly is a stand up comic and someone I’ve known for many years. Her journey is as random as her telling it is entertaining. From bad idea jobs; like working as a booze blogger, to working on building sites, she lays it all down and brings us up to where she currently sits today, as someone who is making big noises within the comedy scene.

Kelly is a close friend of my girlfriend and I’ve seen the women progress and also suffer along the way, so it makes it all the more special to share with you her journey and incredible rise.

Today we welcome Jonathan Henwood-Ross to the show.

Jonathan has made a living from an unusual pursuit, betting money on horses. We felt Jonathan was a great person to feature in our first season where we shine a light on the topic of “luck.” As someone who’s on the front line and receiving end of luck, we wanted to hear what he had to say. His journey has been an interesting one, from starting out betting on races in the US, to handling his own book making business, to racing his own horses; he’s got a wealth of experience to draw on and tales to tell.

We discuss at length his own relationship with the idea of luck, and it might not be what you’d expect…

Luke runs a youth marketing agency called Nerds, formally Urban Nerds, and he has taken his company from being an idea to a multi million pound mega agency. We have nothing but respect for what Luke has achieved and his story is a really inspiring tale. He’s had his own personal battles with addiction and substance abuse and has come out the other side to make a huge success of himself.
