Jesus appears to the assembled disciples (Luke 24:36-43), inviting them to touch his hands and feet before eating broiled fish to prove he is bodily raised. Dr. John explores why physical resurrection matters — against ancient Docetism and spiritualized views of heaven — and what it means that we are, and always will be, both flesh and spirit.
The End of the Beginning: Everyone knows how this story ends — Jesus is crucified, buried, and rises again. But in this 15-part series through Luke 23-24, Dr. John Neufeld shows why these familiar chapters still reward careful study, tracing the trials before Pilate and Herod and the road to the cross. Along the way, he uncovers details unique to Luke's account that reveal what kind of King Jesus truly is.
Finish this sentence: If you want something done right, you have to, what? You might be surprised that the correct answer is, you have to show people what right looks like. Though it’s likely not the answer you expected . . . it’s central to John MacArthur’s next lesson. Be here as John continues his practical study called Wisdom for the Workplace.
There is a big difference between prophets and politicians. Politicians act in a way to please their constituents. Prophets act in a way to please God. In the Bible, prophets often stood alone. They spoke God’s truth and risked losing their lives for it.
You may not think of yourself as controlling. You’re just trying to protect the people you love and keep things from falling apart! You can’t control every outcome…but you can trust the One who can.

Reading from 1 Kings 18:45-46, “Meanwhile the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. The power of the Lord came on Elijah and…he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel” (NIV).
Elijah, the prophet who brought down fire, is now the prophet who brings down rain. Elijah, the prophet who knelt on Mount Carmel in prayer, becomes the prophet who descends in a flurry.
His action inspires us to do likewise. Lift up your eyes! Trust the promises of God. Apart from them life will beat you up. But armed with them, you will weather any storm. How different our lives would be if we heeded the promises and not the problems!
