Meditation ideas for children
1. Ask your child to select a small plush toy. Lay down on your bed or yoga mat, and place the toy on top of their belly buttons. Ask them to watch the toy as it moves up and down with each breath. Can the toy go higher? Can you make the toy move up and down slower? Faster?
2. Back to back breathing is such a fun way to connect with your child. Sitting on the floor, sit with you back to each other, with your back resting on your child’s back. Begin taking intentional breaths. Encourage your child to notice: are the breaths shallow, deep, fast, slow? Your breath may even fall in sync with each other.
3. Working and creating together can be a wonderful way to bond with your child. Make some lavender cloud-dough! Perfect sensory activity, the combination of lavender and kneading the dough is a truly relaxing experience. You can find an easy recipe here!
