Shit Talk Reviews

In what is clearly the worst-produced review that they've put out, John and Derek are wheeling their way to Tampa, FL for a Meshuggah show. The guys take the time to talk about This Consequence, the latest from metalcore vets Killswitch Engage. The review largely looks awful and sounds even worse, but hey, it is what it is.

So fuel up, put your seatbelt on and join the dipsticks to get into this new record! Be sure to swing by www.shittalkreviews.com or the Shit Talk Instagram account to DM for a sticker pack and leave a nasty gram for the guys.

The Godfathers. The Powerhouse. The almighty progressive metal giants MESHUGGAH have released a remastered version of their 2022 release Immutable. With a new record label in the mix, Meshuggah took the opportunity to produce The Indelible Edition and to put a subtle coat of fresh paint on Immutable. Along with three live tracks recorded on the 2022-2023 tour and some fresh artwork, this new version is a must have for any Meshuggah fans and a great entry point for those just getting into the band.

Grab a Magnanimus Brewing Immutable Tripel Ale and some Heartbeat Spiteful Snake Meshuggah hot sauce and join John and Derek as they get into things.

John and Derek had a chance to spend some time with a true renaissance cowboy: Las Vegas's own Stu Folsom. Stu is the founder of the killer crossover thrash band Spiritworld, an author and an all around great dude. They touch on Stu's early days in the rodeo, his vision for the trilogy of death-western albums, his book Godlessness and his lovely lady getting smashed in the face by a windmilling audience member.

Grab yourself a Sarsaparilla and join the guys for a great chat with a true metal cowboy.

Derek and John had the great pleasure of talking with renaissance man Alan Robert.

In addition to being a founding member of Brooklyn based metal band Life Of Agony in the early 1990s, Alan is an award winning author with over 25 books to his name, he's a comic book creator, illustrator, a member of the Metal Hall Of Fame and his album River Runs Red sits on Rolling Stone's list of the Greatest Metal Albums Of All Time.

Join the Shit Talk buffoonery for a fantastic chat with Alan as they get into his time with Life Of Agony, movies, creating his visual works of art, stepping into Hollywood celebrity circles and making snow angels.

The mighty King Diamond is back with new material for 2025! Two of the three Shit Talk yahoos are long-time King Diamond fans and the other is new to the band. (We'll let you figure out which one of the guys has never heard of the band. Go ahead and take a guess. We'll wait.)

If you're a fan of old school Mercyful Fate and/or any of the King Diamond material, we're betting you're going to dig it. So, grab a tasty beverage and a snack and join the fellas as they chat face paint and falsetto.

Then swing by www.shittalkreviews.com and check out the other reviews and interviews. There's sure to be at least 30 seconds of content that will make your heart sing.

David Gilmour is one of those masterful songwriters and musicians who seemingly can do no wrong. His latest release, Luck And Strange is another fantastic album that seems to fit David's current station in life and includes many of his family members who all bring their own great flavors to the record. Sit down with the Shit Talk malcontents as they wax philosophic about this great album. (And then listen to the album in its entirety!)

John and Derek were excited to get into a new kind of black metal album. Patriarkh hails from Białystok, Poland and splintered off from the band Batushka.
Their first album, Prophet Ilja, is an absolutely wonderful first outing under the new band name. There are so many different facets to this album that the guys were reluctant to put them under just the black metal genre label. This album is dramatic, theatric, beautiful and is a great listen all the way around.
Grab yourself a tasty beverage and some snacks and join the Shit Talk buffoons while they dig into Prophet Ilja!

The trifecta of yahoos finally got around to talking about the latest album from Swedish prog giants Opeth. To get right to the point, The Last Will And Testament is a monster album worthy of everyone’s time. If you already know Opeth, then you know. If you don’t know the band and you’re into killer musicianship, top shelf songwriting and concept albums, then you should definitely take The Last Will And Testament out for a test drive. With some amazing guests (Ian Anderson, Joey Tempest and Dave Stewart) super dynamic and theatric progressive music, there is something for everyone on this record. (And the Opeth crew brought back some of their signature heavy for this album too, so the guys are loving that too…)
