Shiva’s 13th and biggest season ever has come to a close on a weekend that provided many twists, turns and crazy scores. There’s plenty of hard luck stories to be heard, but this week we celebrate the champions and look forward to what’s to come in the this year’s final SHIVA BLAST!

Like Nick Blakey at the GABBA, this week Shiva gave plenty of coaches the finger. Last week on the podcast we called the prelim the hardest game to win - and so it proved to be for so many of our successful coaches throughout season 2025. Shiva showed her wrath and shattered many dreams along the way. But what is left is beautiful. Welcome to Grand Final week when a new two-time champion will be crowned and new legacies will be written. Let’s preview it all on the penultimate 2025 episode of the SHIVA BLAST!

The Shiva year has come to a close for a third of the comp. Now we wait and see who can navigate the minefield of the final two rounds of the year. 

Can the season’s most dominant teams win the most nerve-wracking game of the year - the prelim? Time will tell as we dive into this week’s SHIVA BLAST!

The finals are here - AND so are the consolation finals and I will say this again - NO ONE is out yet. Teams in 1st, 2nd, 7th and 8th can put their feet up and scope out the competition. All other teams are facing elimination this week so the stakes couldn’t be higher. 

After 19 rounds this is the last chance to put your flag in the ground and fight for position. As finals beckon, there’s many leagues with Coaches in limbo - relying on just the right results to secure a run at the title. Are we in for a week of triumph or heartbreak? Especially for our 2 remaining knockout Coaches - it’s the Grand Final before the Finals on this week’s SHIVA BLAST!

What an absolute minefield of a round.

Fortunes can change quickly in this game and 2 weeks out from finals a lot of coaches learned that the hard way this week. There were big scores to be had, but can that be maintained with finals on the horizon? 

Time to touch some wood - and once you’re done doing that, hope for some good luck. This is the SHIVA BLAST!

Across 828 coaches there’ll have be some that experienced their last straw on the weekend. Another Bailey Smith late out, an unlikely sub vest, an LDU concussion, an injury. With 3 rounds to go pre-finals the small margins are going hurt even more. Speaking of small margins, this week we announce the song contest winner and it was CLOSE. We’ll analyse the small things, and i’m not talking about Benny, on this week’s SHIVA BLAST!

The byes are over and we are instantly down to business. 4 weeks remain before the finals  and every team has something to play for - whether it’s pushing for Top 2 and a week off, a Top 6 finals berth or prepping for a scrap to avoid relegation. There’s added pressure for 16 of our coaches too with the Knockout Competition back on. Plus there’s the business of announcing our Song Contest finalists.
